As we emerge from a week of epic sartorial moments, local design talent aplenty, fabulous FROW’s, lust-worthy runways and coffee-fuelled PR hustle, we are so proud to look back on all that was achieved at Melbourne Fashion Week 2022.
Once again, Kate & Co. PR was engaged by City of Melbourne to manage the publicity, ambassador and paid talent strategy, as well as guest lists and media accreditation for the M/FW 2022 program.
Running from 10 – 16 October, fashion spilled onto the streets, with the City of Melbourne transforming iconic venues into incredible runways and experiences. The week-long event featured more than 600 celebrated and emerging designers and retailers across more than 100 events and sessions, including 10 premium runways and fashion experiences at eight unique city locations, from the majestic dome at 333 Collins to the bustling Dairy Hall in the Queen Victoria Market precinct and the breathtaking State Library Victoria.
We were also thrilled to work with Award-winning Indigenous Australian singer, songwriter and musician, Thelma Plum, as M/FW 2022 ambassador. Thelma wowed in expertly curated looks across the week and took her talent to the runway performing under the spectacular Collins Dome, as part of the M/FW Closing Runway on Sunday night.
Widespread coverage was secured across the week, including multiple page 3 pic stories in the Herald Sun, The Age, Refinery29, Vogue Australia, Mamamia, Fashion Journal, Harper’s BAZAAR, Stellar, Daily Mail Australia, Time Out Melbourne, GQ.com.au, news.com.au, Ragtrader, NOVA, ABC Radio Melbourne, The Project, Channel 7, 9 & 10, Studio 10, Sunrise, SBS, NITV…and more!
The success of this event isn’t possible without the ongoing support of our media and industry friends, M/FW major partners, as well as the incredible team at the City of Melbourne including Tanya Tribuzio and Sally Wright.
