Melbourne Fashion Week, in collaboration with Universal Pictures and supported by Federation Square unveiled an immersive installation showcasing the original costumes worn by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo in Wicked: Part One and Wicked: For Good.
In a world first, Melbourne audiences had exclusive access to four of the film’s iconic costumes - two of Glinda’s and two of Elphaba’s on display in a free fashion capsule at Federation Square. The exhibition also featured props from the movie, including Nessa Rose’s slippers, the Grimmerie, the green elixir, and Glinda’s shoes.
Marking the one-week countdown to Melbourne Fashion Week, Lord Mayor Nick Reece was joined by Councillor Mark Scott and Universal Pictures Marketing Director Suzanne Stretton-Brown to unveil the display and bring the magic of Wicked to life.
Celebrating the creativity and storytelling that unite both film and fashion, the exhibition highlighted the runways, capsule collections, and programs that will transform Melbourne into a vibrant fashion hub.
The Wicked Wardrobes Exhibition appeared throughout Melbourne Fashion Week.
